Starting a new series of posts here on this blog –
I haven’t been posting a lot recently. But I plan to change that soon. I have been rethinking the direction of this blog. When I started this blog last year I wanted to just post book reviews and travel stories. But, I also do a lot of things outside my day job which I wanted to write about. I didn’t know how to structure it and where to share all of this and what readers of this blog would make of this. When I named this blog – The Tiny Storyteller, I didn’t really know why I was naming it this except that I really liked the name. I have realized that everyone’s life is made of moments and when we share these moments with each other they become stories. After a lot of thought, I decided that instead of making separate posts for the stories in my life which aren’t about books, travel or write ups I’ll start a series of posts here called – Among Other Things. In this series I’ll share what I enjoyed in the past month and stories from my life. Here are the roundups for May. Hope you enjoy!
What I can’t stop listening to 🎶:
My childhood was defined by the shows on the Disney Channel. The OG shows! If you were a teenager between 2005-2010 you know what I mean. Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, Jonas Brothers and Phineas and Ferb – these amazing shows made up my evening TV time after school. I’m pretty sure that some of these shows have a part to play in how I turned out as an adult. So when the Jonas Brothers decided they were getting back together I was euphoric. And, this song, even though it has been out for a few months is my fav still.
What podcast had me hooked 🎧:
I came across Jay Shetty a couple of years ago when he used to make videos for the Huffington Post. He shared advice and wisdom in the most captivating way. He has a podcast now and the guests he interviews and the conversations he has with them are simply amazing! This episode with Yuval Harari (author of the book Sapiens) is one of my favorites. There are a bunch of solo episodes by Jay which are so thought provoking, too. Highly recommend it!
Favorite Comic 🤓 :
Heart and Brain is one of my favorites in general but this one is my life in a nutshell
Succulent Update:
I’m a succulent lover and I have a ton of succulents at home. I have been taking care of succulents for almost four years now. But I never know what their names are. So I bought a book called – Succulents for dummies so I can identify them. The picture below is a succulent I had gifted and it bloomed and it looked simply amazing. It just makes my heart smile 😍

Home Life:
Since summer has finally started, I started going on hikes. But since Spring hasn’t left completely yet the wildflowers are in full bloom and they make hiking such a treat.
Words like these ✍🏽:
I read this some time ago and it gets me pondering about it whenever I read it again. It is so true, isn’t it?
To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.
